Chakana Estate Selection Red Blend awarded with 92 points by Wine&Spirits

The Chakana Estate Selection Red Blend 2015 got 92 point in the last report of the American magazine Wine&Spirits.

This is the full review of our wine:
This wine’s fruit gains its freshness and floral notes from a high altitude, cool climate site. Texturally round, it has lovely, creamy texture, with spices all over the palate. A charming flowery finish adds complexity”.

The awarded wine is a blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon from Gualtallari, Uco Valley, Mendoza. This terroir, located at an altitude between 1,300 and 1,500 meters asl, has an enormous potential thanks to its soil rich in gravels covered by a thick layer of calcium carbonate which gives to the wine a unique mineral structure.
Chakana Estate Selection Red Blend ages 8 months in oak barrels and epoxy-free concrete vats.

Each magazine and each wine journalist has his own preferences and a personal taste, and we can’t forget that this has a great influence in the final scoring. Still, ranking and reviews maintain huge importance in international wine markets.

In Chakana we make wine trying to keep our own style and our own identity, with the goal of expressing, through organic viticulture and biodynamic practices, the huge potential of our vineyards located in different areas of Mendoza.

We don’t design our wines for critics nor rankings. That’s why we’re even prouder when our philosophy is understood and appreciated by international experts at this high level.
